On the way to Oatman, tourists come across Sitgreaves Pass and Shaffer Springs, sporting beautiful natural views at an elevation of 3,550 feet. While Oatman stands today as a ghost town nestled in the Black Mountains, this golden mining district used to produced surpluses of gold, yielding over 125,000 pounds of gold before World War II.

On top of the many gift shops and street performers in Oatman, tourists may encounter free-rein burros (donkeys) throughout the town.
